Epic ‘Jungle Book’ Trailer Has Us Wanting More
If you haven’t seen the trailer for the new Jon Favreau directed The Jungle Book, you are seriously missing out!
When we first heard about this project we were a little reticent to see another Disney remake. Then we saw that Jon Favreau was going to direct it. Then we saw the cast that was attached to it.
Disney’s new “The Jungle Book” trailer looks like an epic “Avatar”-like film with CGI animals that look incredibly life-like, an adorable Mowgli and Scarlett Johannson as the sinister Kaa.
The more matured-looking film doesn’t look like it will be as much of a musical as the studio’s previous animated film.
The video has the only human, Mowgli, interacting with the different animals that fans of the 1967 animated film are already familiar with. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, the new teaser feels “much less Disney, much more James Cameron” with director Jon Favreau using techniques perfected by the “Avatar” director.
“The ‘Iron Man’ director relied heavily on the motion-capture techniques perfected by Cameron and company when making ‘Avatar,'” the article noted. “In fact, the only live-action element of this new version is Mowgli himself, played by newcomer Neel Sethi.”
The animals surrounding Mowgli are voiced by Bill Murray, Scarlett Johannson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, and Christopher Walken.
