Microsoft has announced that a “Season Pass” for Gears of War 3 will be available for 2400 Microsoft Points, or $30. The Season Pass will be available on day-one when Gears of War 3 ships (September 20th), and the first DLC pack is scheduled to come out in November. With the "Season Pass" you get the first four DLC packs that are planned for Gears of War 3 over the next year.
With the pass you’ll be saving about $10. The only issue some might have is that there’s no word yet on what types of DLC will be put out (single-player, co-op, multi-player etc.), but those who do buy into the pass will be getting an exclusive liquid metal weapon set. With forking over money in advance, you are basically investing in the game and are trusting that the content that they put out is going to be valuable to you.
So should you consider this new "Season Pass?" If you are a fan of Gears of War and normally get all DLC associated with the game then in the long run it makes sense. But if you like to wait and see what people are saying about the latest pack then just getting an exclusive liquid metal weapon set might not be worth your $30.
