Vizio to Release Tablet at CES; Teases Device During Rose Bowl

Vizio is not just for TV's anymore. The company known for its low-cost HDTVs, has announced an eight-inch Via Tablet along with a Via smartphone to be shown at CES.

Early reports say that the tablet will have an eight-inch screen, three speakers, a front-facing digital camera, and 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. It should also feature a 1GHz processor, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, and HDMI ouput.

Vizio's first mobile phone, the Via Phone, will have a 4-inch screen, a front-facing camera, a rear-facing five megapixel camera and the capability to shoot video.

Both devices will run Google Android complete with Android Market access and will ship this summer. Both devices should come a built-in IR blaster to turn the devices into universal remotes for Vizio HDTVs

Below is the video where the Via Tablet made an appearance during the Rose Bowl, which Vizio sponsored.
